The Role of the Leader

8th February 2023

Event Overview

The Role of the Leader

‘When you are a leader, you are a prisoner of the organisation.’
Peter Drucker

Drucker made this striking assertion in an interview shortly before he died. He was referring to the competing demands on the leader coming from Finance, Sales, Marketing, Production, Human Resources, Regulatory and Compliance and so on. In SMEs this is no different because, leaders may well find that they are Finance, Sales, Marketing, HR etc.!

So, what to do? How does a leader resolve this conundrum and ‘break free’ – metaphorically - from being the prisoner of the organisation and going on to make a decisive contribution?

During this brief session we will consider four competencies that any leader must master to effectively deliver on their brief. To help us we will be asking

i)    What is on my ‘to do’ list?
ii)    What does my business’ current growth stage require of me?
iii)    Am I operating at the right level?
iv)    What is in my messaging?

The session will be practical and challenging, encouraging you to make the necessary commitments to deliver the results that you and your organisation desire.
