Business Resilience
Definition The ability of a business, its people, systems and processes to main their core purpose and integrity in the face of shocks and surprises, both internal and external and foreseen and unforeseen
Protecting our businesses and their value should be a high priority to business owners, but as human beings we are not wired to consider the worst-case scenario.
We also have individual biases that make more or less attuned to risk, particularly entrepreneurs, who are comfortable with risk.
Decision-making is an emotional process; we can be further dis-advantaged by a lack of “emotional” connection to risk. This comes not from considering the “Likelihood” of Risk, but the “Consequences”.

He has built and delivered National Sales Training Programmes and recognised as a Finalist at National Sales Training Awards. His real interest in Resilience grew when preparing to take part in the Marathon de Sables, a 250km 7-day self-sustaining race across the Sahara Desert. He had to plan to deal with whatever might go wrong in an extreme environment with no external assistance, to stay in the race. He has since used this resilience mentality to compete in similar multi-day races in the Namib Desert (Namibia) and the Atacama Desert (Chile) and in business implementing ISO management standards and helping business owners build resilience.
